Located in the historic center of Colle di Val d’Elsa in a 16th century palace
Palazzo Renieri is an intimate, discreet, romantic and comfortable hotel in the heart of Colle Alta. The Palace was built at the twilight of the sixteenth century by the Renieri family, who like others moved here for trade and contributed to the building development and urbanization of the city of Colle. There are three buildings built in the city by the Renieri family during the sixteenth century, Palazzo Renieri di Sopra is the one that now houses our hotel. Located in the heart of the medieval village of Colle Val D’Elsa, where once many pilgrims traveled the Via Francigena, the Hotel Palazzo Renieri offers tradition and modernity. Tradition lives in the internal architecture, thanks to the minimally invasive and respectful renovations of the location, in the suggestive views that it offers from inside, the convent of San Francesco (1229) which dominates the landscape and in the rooms, from which you can admire a unique panoramic view of the medieval village of Colle. The furnishings, comforts and services, on the other hand, belong to modernity. There are 24 rooms furnished in a modern style and freshly restyled, embellished with artistic decorations by the artist Jacqueline Tune. Particular attention is paid to cycle-tourism lovers who, in the hotel, will have a large internal car park equipped with all recharging services (for electric bicycles) and connected to a particularly wide and agile exit road even for groups. The Hotel is located in a strategic position for both business trips and leisure stays, served just 150 meters from a large public car park. The ideal choice for those who want to get lost with pleasure and transport in the maze of alleys and lanes of the Colle Alta, or for those who choose it as an exploration base for the more famous and nearby San Gimignano and Monteriggioni or Siena just 30 km away. Ideal for families with communicating triple rooms, for the “businessman / businesswomen” looking for comfort and discretion, or for a more intimate romantic getaway for two. The trained and qualified staff will be able to welcome you with professionalism and kindness, in order to make your stay in our hotel as comfortable as possible and to make the most of the services offered.

Between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries in Colle Val d’Elsa there was a widespread phenomenon of urbanization stimulated by many families from surrounding areas, such as the Renieri da Siena family, who settled here for the flourishing activities that were there, mostly related to the production of wool and paper. Some members of this family, who also held important public offices, built three palaces in the city along the course of the 16th century, which became the inspiring model of many other private buildings built over the course of the century.
Set among the landscapes of the Sienese lands, Colle Val d’Elsa is the “Italian capital of crystal” so much so that it is considered the Bohemia of Italy.
Its centuries-old history of crystal processing is told in the crystal museum, where you can discover the ancient processing techniques and admire the most beautiful creations.
Colle Val d’Elsa is crossed by the Via Francigena and is unique in its architecture thanks to the presence of the peculiar tower-houses, one of which was the home of Arnolfo di Cambio, a famous sculptor and architect of the Nicola Pisano school.
Of particular interest is also the Cathedral of Saints Alberto and Marziale and the imposing Baluardo, an ancient defensive bastion that stands on the highest point of the town.
